Happy Chinese New Year to our fellow parents, teachers and students!
Prime International's annual Chinese New Year Celebration on Feb 4, 2020 was nothing short of fun and joyful. The commencement of the event began with Mr Chai giving an opening speech to students and teachers, greeting everyone a 'Happy Chinese New Year!'- ushering in the Year of the Rat 🐀.
🧧The CNY Event has many highlights and we've concluded the best bits. Here it is!
Students from Year 2, 4 and 5 gave us a wooing performance of 天天好天 ( Tian Tian Hao Tian) to commemorate this auspicious day. Performers also shared interesting facts, taboos and superstitious of the DO's and DON'Ts like - You shouldn’t clean or sweep your home during New Year’s as you may accidentally sweep away the good luck that comes with a new year and so many more. Audience were also mindblown by the disciplined and unwavering unit of Martial Arts by Year 7P, their synchronized steps gave us a sense of tradition and fulfillment 🕺💃.
Other plays include the Dance Club giving us an unforgettable performance, the Mandarin Club serenading and performing a drama for the audiences. Year 9 student Wong Yong Sheng also sang a song to the audience, we applaud him for his highly expressive croon.
Last and not least, a CNY Treasure Hunt was allocated at the end of the mini concert, students dashed to gather items and complete the clues before the time runs out ⌛.
Wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!!! May this New Year bring you prosperity, happiness and luck in 2020.
